V-Cone Flowmeter

The throttling element of the V-Cone Flowmeter is a cone-shaped body which is hung in the centre of the pipe.

 The flowmeter is used to help to change the flow distribution. High pressure P1 is taken from the pipe wall of the front cone where the fluid has not speeded the throttling; while low pressure P2 is taken from the back cone, and it will lead to the outside of the pipe through the branch pipe of the front of the inner cone. It is equipped with the differential pressure transmitter. The square root of the differential pressure (P1&P2) is proportion to the flow, according to which, we can calculate the flow of the liquid.

 

Applications: 

 

It is widely used in measuring the flow of liquids, gases or steams in the steel industry, electricity industry, and chemical  industry, etc.

 

Characteristics:

 

♦ Both the front part and the back part of the straight pipe should be short. Generally, it just needs 3D upstream; it needs 1D downstream.

♦ Its accuracy is very high. The output value of the differential pressure can realize the repeatability of ±0.1%.

♦ The loss of the pressure is very little, which is only 1/2~1/3 of the orifice-plate.

♦ It can not only measure the liquids and solids which contain suspended particles, but also measure the gases.
